Online Bookings Made Simple
I was talking to some private property owners here in Alcaidesa today about making it simple for a client to book their properties during high and low seasons. During the high season prices are at a premium and during the low season it’s a battleground for available business.
The big mistake being made is on two fronts, 1. Being most of them did not have a web site and depended on a directory listing where at best they are a “me too” product hoping for an online reservation.

2. Those that had web sites had no idea how to use the local area and what’s going on to help them with their niche market.

The perception is yes, the reality is no. However many providers charge a commission on all sales which could lead to a business paying over the odds for a system. Helpful Online Booking Software Tips
I was doing some research for my clients who were looking for Online Booking Software and this is what I found to be of great value when setting out my criteria with them.
1. Find a booking system that doesn’t charge commission on all of your sales.
2. Look for booking software that has a fixed cost.
3. Search for a booking system that can help you with your marketing online and offline.
4. Make sure you have an internet based booking system which eliminates the need for software updates and downtime.
5. If you need a merchant account find a booking system that can provide you with one.

Hotel Businesses use Online Booking Systems
Not all of them do but yes most of the large hotel chains have their own online system.
So why do the smaller hotels not use online booking software?
Are they afraid of change or losing control?
Is it because they believe that a booking system would be too expensive?
Do they think they are too small?
There is a number very successful smaller Hotels using an online booking system check this one out in Tarifa, the Kite Boarding Capital of Europe, and with just six rooms.
